I’ve been playing with a surveillance system for my house, just for fun. But a few years ago, it would have been useful as my sister’s car’s tires got slashed in our drive way. We have since put up a motion-activated set of lights where we park our cars, but I always thought that was just a deterrent. If they really wanted to, or knew they were automatic, they would. Yea, it finally happened. I knew it would soon as it’s a second gen XBox without the Falcon chip. It died Monday, ordered the box the same day. Most people get their box on the third day after ordering it, so today is the day hopefully! I want to get it out of here as fast as I can so I can get it back sooner. If they can’t fix my 360’s problem (I hope), then I get one of the new ones with the Falcon chip and HDMI out. UNDERGROUND 4 is gonna hate me.

The great guys over at 360voice.com have recently released their fifth Podcast! It looks like they are getting the hang of this.
Sorry for the short post, been busy.

Well, life is dealing heavy blows against me and I found some neat things in Halo 3 (marines jumping to their deaths). I’ve been working on the APIs for 360voice for so long that I’ve been neglecting my site and it’s numerous 404 errors from just loading a single page. I have to fix that before anything else happens as that’s bandwidth. Not that bandwidth is a problem, I haven’t even gotten even 2% of my monthly limit yet, but it’s good to have a “Fix it now, no problems later” mentality than a “Shit, we’re down for the rest of the month, fix it now.”
Now, onto gaming news, I’m not going to talk about H3 until I learn exactly how these things work.
Portal- I found out some cheats for it that allow you to have 8 portals out (4 pairs) that link to certain ones. It’s so much fun jumping though one, falling up, launching to the right, launching to the left, then falling down, only to repeat this system again. I’ve even found out that you can ’stand’ inside the portals. There’s a 1 pixel wide lip that you can stand on whilst inside the portal that makes certain levels MUCH easier. Instead of waiting for a platform to come by to let you have a safe place to get on, you can just MAKE your own. Better yet, since portals don’t disappear until another accepted portal is created, you can get though said level just by turning and shooting.

My latest API, the 360voice Challenge Badge Gateway just hit version 1.1.8B. Version 1 was a basic version of this used only for my API Creator Challenge. Before I even launched that challenge I thought “I bet this would be useful lfor others!”, so I made an interface to add challenges (at this point, it was just me hard coding the check in.)
V1.0.0 had 4 input fields, as noted by the help file. It involved a lot of non-automated user-generated information. I hold that as a bad thing as properly coded scripts are infinitely better than people at getting data. I asked the staff at 360voice to help me by adding a conversion API to get the Challenge ID (what I need to get the data) from the URL that is given out to join the challenge. They did me one better and allowed another GET variable to allow me to get the data without calling another API.
V1.1.0
A major bug fix for me. I used the same variable twice and that was blocking people from being redirected even if they were supposed to be. Also lowered the amount of input fields to 1.
1.1.2
Minor fixes/code cleanup
1.1.3
Added feature to select multiple badges
1.1.4
Large update here. Using the new API attributes, I have made it so theres only 2 things you have to do. Paste in the URL to the challenge join page, and choose your badges. Also checks that 1) Challenge exists, and 2) Challenge hasn’t already started.
1.1.5
Added interface to choose badges from the ones you have or all the badges. Defaults to all.
1.1.6
Added in a check to the AJAX script that shows badges to check if the challenge is valid (Exists, hasn’t started). Next up, make a cron to remove old challenges.
1.1.7
Added in a check to use the new API Key API. Doesn’t ask on Challenge creation yet. Going to code that soon.
1.1.8 Beta
The badges are categorized into rows with similar badges along side them. Makes it easier to find the badges you want. I have a script running every hour that checks for new badges that I do not have categorized in the category file.

Anyone who has read this for a while will know how I feel about this subject, but ranting is fun.

Alright, after a week of working on ES, I finally got everything working. Her’s a list of the subdomains:
sigs.eegrasstudios.com
journal.eegrasstudios.com
enigma.eegrasstudios.com
www.eegrasstudios.com
That’s all that work at the post of this blog. I’m mainly working on making sure that sigs works perfectly.

It’s not really fleshed out yet but it will be a machinima made in Halo 3 and will be like a Robot Chicken episode. I currently do not know how many episodes we will make or, if we do, what the time span between updates is. You’ll know more this weekend when we film.
